City

Sightseeing:

Besides visiting the major cities of Valencia and Alicante, there are some pleasant walks we can recommend:

  • Guadelest – small town in a castle, takes half an hour to drive there, then walk up the castle.
  • Fonts de Algar – cold springs, walk on a trail up the cold spring water.
  • Driving in the mountains – countless trips, you can always find beautiful vantage point, and good local restaurants.
  • Church Square in Altea in the evening you also need to catch up.

Food and drink:

Restaurants- there are a number of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. In Albir recommended Enrique. The old town of Altea, just 2.5 kilometers away, has many nice restaurants to suit all tastes, tapas, full menus, simple dishes, pasta and pizza, and more. Some of our favorites are La Costera, La Capella and La Maja.

Also on the seafront of Altea you will find many good restaurants. In La Nucia, there is a family restaurant that offers several menus with wine menu, fantastic experience, El Xato. In Denia there is a three star restaurant, Quique Dacosta http://www.viamichelin.com/web/Restaurant/Denia-03700-Quique_Dacosta-219860-41102for any major experiences. Lunch is recommended here! In Alicante there is a tapas bar Nou Manolin http://www.noumanolin.com/ which is also worth the drive. In Benidorm there are several excellent tapas bars around the church, choose where the Spaniards are the majority. If you want the wine tasting, the local producer, Enrique Mendoza http://www.bodegasmendoza.com/ tours of the winery with tasting of wine and tapas and dinner for groups.
